Caftan may be an old-fashioned word for Arabic men's clothing - but I like both the word and the style so I call every piece of cool and traditional Arabic men's clothing a "caftan" in a simplifying way... I don't think the situation of Arabic men's fashion is too good nowadays unfortunately...
