Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental - With Cheese And Bacon

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's o.k.: I guess I understand the essence of lean production... Especially in the case of very expensive airplanes you cannot afford to produce anything to stock... Only what's necessary and the result of a long process of decision...

Who buys anything from stock? Emotional people (and hereby I don't understand myself)... For example who would buy 20 + 15 + 20 + 15 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 100 Boeing 747-8 Intercontinentals from stock? Kind of emotional costumers... And what if the 100 Jumbo Jets cannot be sold all the same? Then 1 or 2 emotional costumers would buy them... Costumers who want to be emotional in the rational crowd... (Or developing regions: so that the Jumbo Jet can be incredibly new again in its role in aviation and by instalments that I think is an intelligent way of purchasing expensive goods...)

This could be also the spirit of the age of VIP... So if I were The Boeing Company I would build 100 Jumbo Jets "just like that" - there must be emotional costumers in the world, too...

It is very interesting by the way how different airlines think: Lufthansa have thought that they could use 20 Boeing 747-8 Intercontinentals (with 20 options) next to their fleet of Airbus A380s... British Airways, Air France or Singapore Airlines want to forget the Jumbo Jet of Boeing, they don't think the airplane makes any sense next to the Airbus A380 - and the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental has become simply awkward for them dispite of the efforts of Boeing engineers and salesmen... Such huge differences!

Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
