Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have just read in Randy's Journal that The Boeing Company sold the 1,000th 747 Family aircraft (to Singapore Airlines) in 1993 already... That machine is not yet 20 years old so we can wait for the airlines changing their 747s for new ones...
Otherwise when The Boeing Company is disappointed over the only 136 orders for the new Jumbo Jet this far you can be sure that the airlines are disappointed over the new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental as well: the airplane is quiet, fuel efficient and large - but nothing more... Since the Airbus A380 appeared in the skies you expect special effects and superlatives of luxury from a large airplane...
That's why the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental Semi-VIP aircraft could make the legendary Jumbo Jet more attractive... This concept is the combination of an airliner with a 3-class-seating and of the popular "Global Office" model... The Semi-VIP Jumbo Jet could be arranged as follows:
a) upper deck: flight deck and first class,
b) main deck: VIP lounge, business class and economy class with SkyLoft and
c) lower deck: VIP conference and dining room, offices and bedrooms and a little cargo space...
The Semi-VIP Jumbo Jet could fly on a schedule carrying tourists and business travelers while it could also offer a temporary but representative office in the air for rent for customers who want to connect 2 major cities doing business, mostly on a regular base... So the giant Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental could serve both as a passenger jet and as a VIP airliner/shuttle for rent... The Semi-VIP configuration will be available within the scope of the Boeing InteriYours Program...
Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
