The new Boeing 767-8 Intercity was not a real Boeing aircraft if it didn't want to change our imagination of aviation basicly... Its optional protective energy shield replaces a hangar building completely protecting the airplane from weather influances or crime and therefore it makes much expensive airport infrastructure superflous... That means where a Boeing 767-8 Intercity can stand it can be also maintened without further expenses making it easier for airlines and airports to expand...
Of course, after the debut of the protective energy shield in the Boeing 767-8 Intercity the technology will be also available in all large airplanes of The Boeing Company...
