For the new Boeing 767-8 Intercity berths will be also available - however not in the crown space above the main deck but in the cargo space underneath the main deck... You would think berths make no sense on short journeys and at high cruising speeds: you spend hardly any time onboard the airplane...
But why not spend more time onboard such a cool jet? The berths and the connected lounge could be a hub for families or business travelers: as the airplane flies from city to city approx. one person of a traveling family or a business team could remain on the airplane and organize the world trip of the others...
This solution could mean a new era in aviation: connecting continents, cities and people on a schedule for many passengers with the luxury of business or VIP jets...
