Environmental Protection Vs. Mining

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I dislike mines and I don't think they make a sense...

a) If I were a prehistoric man I would choose instead of the danger and the hard work in mines collecting the powers of the sun, of the water and of the wind to drive my machines... Actually, in Ancient Egypt people worshiped the Sun and in Ancient Greece people worshiped gods living on a mountain-top... Our concepts of heaven somewhere in the skies and of hell somewhere under the ground must also come from these ancient cultures...

b) I guess most of the minerals, ores and metals that you really need could be also exploited by open-cast mining instead of deep mining (regarding point a you need hardly any coal and not even uranium if you have hydrogen etc.)... Open-cast mining is ugly but deep mining endangers human lives that are even more precious than mountain landscapes...

c) Digging deep culturally miners are definitely no cowards but rather homophobes despite of the hot and wet circumstances of a deep mine... They are only seldom intellectual leaders but must have a boring life that others couldn't imagine, what's more they seem to choose the opposite of intellectual heights and fight aggressively with nature... Most likely it would be a salvation for miners being replaced by machines...

d) You can also wonder if miners keep the treasures of the Earth in their hands or mine-owners? Now if the miners form workers' unions then they are stronger, not to mention their overpower by numbers...

Making a summary of the above I would say that in 21st Century mankind will need fewer and fewer miners...

Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
