Ladies and Gentlemen,
I as a lucky member of the Boeing World Design Team proudly announce the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental: the world's largest airplane and passenger jet with S/VTOL (Short/Vertical Take-off and Landing) capability... The newly developed system functions as follows:
a) in the front of the cargo space of the airliner huge balloons are filled with helium gas from pressurized bottles, this elevates the jet in the required slanting starting position and provides with additional uplift during take-off,
b) at the maximum output of its engines the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental rockets into the sky until it reaches its cruising altitude and speed,
c) landing functions in the opposite direction...
This way the Jumbo Jet is capable of taking-off from and landing on the smallest airport aprons which saves space and costs but most importantly protects the environment - you don't need to build new runways for the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental with S/VTOL Option... A choice of conscience for airlines and airports...
Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
