I know actually how the dashboard of a modern articulated lorry looks like - I can tell you the flight deck of the new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental of USD 320 million doesn't look any worse or any better: it looks the same... That is why I could imagine instead of the universal, rational and calming military-brown color of the cockpit:
a) an ultra-stylish and elegant white,
b) a mysterious black,
c) an environmentally conscious light-blue or green,
d) a decent dark-red,
e) a youthful orange etc. as well...
