Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental - Extended Space

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Many have been playing with the thought - I am serious: the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental could be designed over into a full double-deck airliner as well... The Extended Space version of the iconic Jumbo Jet of Boeing should have the traditional narrow hump nearly until the aft wings... The full-length upper deck could offer some 60 additional business class seats this way...

I don't think you had to change the technical fundamentals of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental because of this option - as the crown space above the main deck is nearly as big and heavy (especially with the optional Overhead Space Utilization) as the hump before it... The iconic shape of the Boeing 747 would still remain recognizable but the demand of our modern age for a fashionable design with full double-decks was also satisfied...

Just because of insisting on the traditional narrow hump Boeing would go its own ways however the company would show more flexibility and more respect towards its main competitor, airlines and passengers... The Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental Extended Space would be more impressive on airports and less stubborn and radical at the same time...

As the technical fundamentals of the airliner shouldn't be changed because of the full-length upper deck the new version of the 747 would also provide with an excellent fuel efficiency and operating economics... The slightly improved capacity could make the legendary airliner even more attractive while the Jumbo Jet of Boeing still had a unique style and represented a unique market segment...

Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
