Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let's deal a little bit with the ground surface of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental... We know that the main deck of a Boeing 747 is longer than that of any comparable jetliner by its concept - as the cockpit is not on the main deck but a level higher... Plus:
a) the version Boeing 747-8IC is the longest airliner of the world,
b) you can add to the surface of the main deck the surface of the pretty upper deck and
c) you could also add to the surface of the Jumbo Jet the surface of an eventual SkyLoft or Overhead Space Utilization, too...
How much larger is then a full-double-deck Airbus A380 actually? It is officially about a 40% larger ground surface - somehow hard to believe... And admitedly a Boeing 747-8IC can also carry 581 passengers in a 2-class-configuration...
However even much more beautiful than a Boeing 747-8IC friendship is... Europe and Airbus have got a state-of-the-art and beautiful very large airplane with the A380 now, with 2 full decks and with many windows... Let them enjoy their success...
Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
