Overpopulation

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I had heard a really horrible story at high-school (that is about 20 years ago) about a land that was already then famous for its very high population... A leader of the Communist Party of this land and a Hungarian guest travelled in a crowded city and then the car ran over somebody in the crowd on the streets... But the party leader didn't want to stop because of the deadly accident: he said that such things happen everyday in that land - nothing more...

I think that the only solution for overpopulation and the resulting cruelty (you just happen to stand in some leader's way e.g.) can be only interstellar travelling and the colonisation of empty and earth-like planets... Let us hope that the quantum computer that is already being developed will change science and make interstellar journeys possible - just like in Star Trek...
